Investing in education and youth skills development is imperative for countries seeking to boost their economic growth. Reportedly, (10th education for all global monitoring report) every $1 spent on a person’s education yields $10 -$15 in economic growth over the person’s working lifetime and there is mounting evidence that the quality of human resources is directly related to individual earnings, productivity and economic growth (EFA Global Monitoring Report 2005).
WDI will work to improve the employability of youths in its adopted communities. Interventions will include strengthening links between the world of training and education and the world of work, including apprenticeships, improving access to information on career opportunities and encouraging youth entrepreneurship.
