In response to the realities of the time, WDI has had to re-model its house to house canvasing malaria program titled ‘Model Families for Malaria Control Intervention’.
Our program is aimed at sensitizing expectant mothers and newborn mothers to protect themselves and their families against malaria within primary health centers, while following all government policies regarding COVID-19 prevention measures to ensure that all staff and beneficiaries are protected.
WDI launched its first COVID- Malaria response in Sura Primary Health Centre, Lagos Island East Local Government Area on Thursday, August 20, 2020, reaching over 40 pregnant women with health education on prophylaxis, and safe preventive and treatment measures that can be taken against malaria. Mothers were also equipped with Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets and Insecticide Sprays.
